DMT-Nexus Wiki talk:Community portal
Old Wiki
It seems that I've managed to transfer over all the information in the old wiki, so it may be discarded if there is no more need of it. --amor_fati 16:47, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Templates that we need
- Material template (How would like that to look like?)
- Procedure template?
- Botanics template?
- Other templates?

Community Portal Appearance
I've been experimenting in the Sandbox with trying to make the portal look more like the main page, but I've run into some problems. I'd like to see the forum links have a little spot on the left with resources directly underneath, the todo list taking up most of the right side, and the to-be-reviewed on the bottom.--amor_fati 22:14, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
- For some reason, urls like this http://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=topics&f=29 seem to be incompatible with the Main Page/Portal template. I'll try to find out why.--amor_fati 01:08, 14 March 2009 (UTC)
- Found the workaround: = must be represented as =.
- It's better to use "=" since thats offical HTML. --TheTraveler 11:38, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- Is there any way to get the template to do this automatically?--amor_fati 14:09, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- I already searched a bit for replacement stuff but didn't find anything. It was late though so I'll try it again. ;) --TheTraveler 16:37, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
- I found the correct String Function extension (#replace) but it's not working properly within the Template. It's probably a parser buffer bug in the MediaWiki software. --TheTraveler 17:33, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Project: Spice
With my assessment of the usage of the term reflected in the article, Spice, I have begun a project to differentiate the use of the term as generally referring DMT and many of it's commonly associated alkaloids. Oftentimes, procedures and teks are intended to yield a more purified form of DMT, and the use of 'DMT' in the titles and procedures is necessary to express that. Oftentimes, however, teks and procedures call for the use or extraction of a full-range of alkaloids or can be used interchangeably between more pure DMT and what could simply be referred to as spice, so such teks and procedures should use the term 'spice' for the sake of accuracy.
My understanding of the difference and stratification between the terms is that it's quite similar to that between ecstasy and molly(MDMA), in which 'ecstasy' can refer to molly or a range of impurities alongside molly but not the other way around with ecstasy being called molly; while a crude example, it should illustrate the point.
One example of how the difference can be illustrated is found in The_Nexian_DMT_Handbook#Nontoxic_Freebase_Spice_Conversion where the first process has been shown to apply to a full range, while the second applies to a far more pure form of spice, effectively and likely composed of pure DMT. The use of 'DMT' as a description need not strictly apply to a substance of known total purity like synthesized DMT, but may be used somewhat loosely in terms of the product obtained by FASA, Heptane, or Naphtha for example where it has generally been demonstrated to contain only trace active impurities or, at most, DMT N-Oxide. An example of how else the project may be put into effect is found in both Amor fati's Nontoxic Approach to Spice Extraction and Amor fati's Approach to Freebase Spice Conversion, in which I have taken it upon myself to rename them in order to illustrate that they are intended for a range of DMT-related alkaloids and not pure DMT.
Feedback is welcome on this topic, otherwise the project is ongoing.--amor_fati 16:34, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
