OptionOne: TheCoalitionforEntheogenicLiberties(CEL)purportstoraiseawarenessregardingthespiritualuseofentheogenicbotanicalsandsubstancesbyenthusiasticallyandopenlyrepresentingtheentheogeniccommunityandbyappealingtooutsidesupportintheformofprofessionalscientificandmedicalopinionandresearch,legaladvocacyandcouncil,andthesympathyandinterestofthegeneralpublic.Thecoalitionconsidersthecurrentorexpandingillicitstatusofentheogenstobeunfounded,unconstitutional,andinviolationoffundamentalhumanrights,anditseekstopubliclyexpoundonthesepointsaswellasorganizepeacefulupheavalofthepoliciesofprohibitionandsocialtaboosbredtherein. Asapublicfacetoftheentheogeniccommunity,thecoalitionwillbringtolightthecommunity'scoreadvocacyofresponsibilityandsincerityofintentinentheogenicpractice,aswellasitsmanyachievementsanddiscoveries.Thecoalitionwillalsoexpressthetherapeuticpotentialofthecommunity'spracticesandtheimplicationofitsinheritancefromtheaboriginalculturescurrentlyandhistoricallyofcommonpractice. Thegoalsofthecoalitionareasfollows: Toraiseawarenessregardingtheentheogeniccommunity'sbeneficentnatureandpurpose. Toalleviatetheunnecessarylegalandsocialstrainontheentheogeniccommunitybywayofgeneraladvocacy. Topromoteresponsiblepracticeandsinceritywithintheentheogeniccommunity. OptionTwo: TheCoalitionforEntheogenicLiberties(CEL)isapeacefulcommunitydedicatedtothedefenseofpersonallibertiesandthespiritualpracticeofpsychedelicbotanicals.Werespectthelaw,publicsafety,andtheabilityofmaturegroupsandindividualstomakethedecisiontoseekinsightofrealmsgreaterthanourown. Webelieveitisnotthejobofgovernmenttocontrolsubstancesthatareclearlyhealthywhenusedproperlyandwithrespect.Webelievegovernmentisnotresponsibleforinhibitingthelegitimatespiritualpracticessomeofthesepsychedelicsrepresenttomanyindividualsandgroups.Webelieveactionsandlawsbasedonignorancearewrong,andwillseektoinformandopenthelawsandmindsofthepublic. OurGoalsareto: 1)Informthepublicofthetruenatureofpsychedelicsandtheirbenefitswithscience,reason,andspiritualawareness. 2)Defendthosewhoneedlesslydraintheresourcesofourjusticesystem. 3)Advocatechangeinthelawsthatunnecessarilylimitpersonalfreedomandspiritualpractice. OptionThree: Decriminalizationoftheentheogens? OptionFour: TheCoalitionforEntheogenicLiberties(CEL)isanindependentorganizationdedicatedtothediscoveryandstudyofsubstancesthatcommonlyinducesafespiritualexperiences.Ourgoalistoquicklyandsafelybringanendtothecurrentprohibitionandintegratethescientificunderstandingofentheogenicsubstancesintooursocietyandculture. Weassertthefollowinglegalrightsasmoralimperatives: 1.Therightofcertifiedscientistsandresearcherstoobtain,store,andstudyanyandallpsychoactivesubstance 2.Therightofallresponsibleadultstoobtain,store,andutilizeanyandallpsychoactivesubstancesrecommendedbyalicensedphysician. 3.Therightofallresponsibleadultstoobtain,store,andutilizeanyandallpsychoactivesubstancesthatposelittlerisktothemselvesorothers. Withouttheserights,wecannotclaimweareinafreesociety. Thefreedomtoinfluenceandunderstandthenatureofourmindsisessentialandwewillnevergiveitup.
