What is Snuff?

Snuff is a preparation made from a variety of plants in different places, used traditionally by indigenous people by inhalation/insuflation. Often the snuff is blown across a tube by a partner into one's nostril. Several snuffs contain psychoactive components such as DMT, 5-MeO-DMT, Bufotenine, others might contain tobacco with nicotine and it's other components, etc.

The botanical sources for snuffs can be, amongst others: Anadenanthera peregrina, Anadenanthera colubrina, A. colubrina var cebil, Virola theiodora and other virola spp.

With Anadenanthera it is mostly the seeds that are used, and with virola, the resin from the bark.
