Geographic distribution
Widespread in coastal regions of eastern and southern Australia; naturalised in South Africa, eastern USA, southern Europe.
Identification
Differs from Acacia longifolia [1] in having wider, rounder phyllodes, more twisted pods, and a more prostrate habit. Common on coastal dunes.
Alkaloid content
