Introduction

Here's a DIY guide on creating your very own vacuum filtration system. All equipment can be obtained from Bunning's

Required Equipment

  • Suction pump drain cleaner
  • 25mm x 90cm Clear vinyl tubing
  • 17-32mm Stainless steel hose clamp
  • Some Rubber bands
  • Funnel

Required Equipment

Step One

Unscrew suction piece off the drain pump.

Step Two

Wind a few rubber bands around the tip of the drain pump - this will ensure an airtight fit when the clamp is tightened.

Step Three

Burn or cut a small "shottie" hole near the tip of the clear tube, then fit the clear tubing onto the pump.

Step Four

Screw the steel clamp on tight.

Step Five

Place in bucket and fit the funnel into the end of the hose. The hose should be flat along the bottom of the bucket, which holds the hose stable when the funnel is full.

Usage

To create the one-way pump, hold your finger over the "Shottie" hole when pulling, then take your finger off when flowing pushing the pump back in.
